It was indeed it was a happy day for the newly admitted students of the university of lagos as they celebrated the joy of their formal acceptance into the prestigious institution with their family, friends, & well-wishers. The artmosphere was very exhilirating and you could see the happy expressions on the faces of various students as they all gathered from various faculties at the university main auditorium to attend their matriculation ceremony.
Events commenced early in the morning at about 9:00am with the freshers already seated and one could not help but notice some individuals jostling for seats before the ceremony commenced in earnest. The main auditorium was packed to the rafters and some individuals had to make do by staying outside.
The ceremony commenced with a speech by the vice-chancellor of the university who charged the new freshers to study and keep focused on their main purpose of coming to the university. He also charged them with developing effective reading and study habits, time management, and also eating healthy. He warned them not to get to carried away with social activities on campus & desist from cultism as it ultimately led to expulsion.
The master of ceremonies : MC was LAMU the popular radio host at unilag radio 103.1fm. Indeed he spiced up the occasion by making heart warming jokes and everyone was carried along
The main feature of the ceremony was the academic procession officially undertaken bythe matriculation officials all clad in their white uniforms and black caps.
A number of acts also made various performaces and rendered presentations in light of the ceremony,
The ceremony ended at about 10 minutes to noon as the freshers trooped out to celebrate & take pictures with their family, friends and other loved ones.
